IND VS NZ 1ST T20 India defeated New Zealand by 48 runs, Take a 1-0 lead in the series.

 India defeated New Zealand by 48 runs in the first T20 match to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. In the match played on Wednesday, the Indian team, after losing the toss and batting first, scored 238 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the New Zealand team could only manage 190 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted overs. Glenn Phillips scored 78 runs for them.

This is how India's innings went.

Batting first, India got off to a poor start. In the second over, Sanju Samson was dismissed after scoring just 10 runs. Ishan Kishan, making a comeback to T20s after a long time, also departed cheaply, scoring only 8 runs. However, Abhishek Sharma then played a blistering innings, reaching his half-century in just 22 balls. Captain Suryakumar Yadav also looked in good form. At the end of 10 overs, India's score was 117-2. But in the 11th over, India suffered their third setback when Captain Surya was dismissed for 32 runs. Surya scored 32 runs off 22 balls, hitting 4 fours and one six. In the 12th over, India lost their fourth wicket when Abhishek Sharma was dismissed after playing a whirlwind innings of 84 runs off 35 balls. Abhishek's innings included 5 fours and 8 sixes.

In the 14th over, India lost their fifth wicket when Shivam Dube was dismissed for 9 runs. In the 16th over, Hardik Pandya's wicket fell. Hardik scored 25 runs. Following this, Rinku Singh played an unbeaten innings of 44 runs off 20 balls, taking India's score to 238.

Here's how New Zealand's innings unfolded:

Chasing a target of 239 runs, New Zealand got off to a terrible start. On the second ball of the first over, Arshdeep Singh dismissed Conway, who failed to open his account. Hardik Pandya then came on to bowl the second over and removed Rachin Ravindra, who scored only one run. This meant the Kiwi team had lost two wickets for just one run. However, Glenn Phillips and Robinson then tried to stabilize the innings, putting together a half-century partnership. But in the 7th over, Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Robinson. At that point, the visiting team's score was 52 for 3. Glenn Phillips then played a blistering innings, scoring 78 runs off 40 balls.

 However, he lost his wicket in the 14th over. Chapman then took charge, but Varun Chakravarthy trapped him with his spin in the 15th over. Chapman contributed 39 runs. When Chapman's wicket fell, New Zealand needed 96 runs off 31 balls to win. The Indian bowlers then tightened their grip, restricting New Zealand to a score of 190. The second match of the series will be played in Raipur on January 23rd.
