Ishan Kishan's century
Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Ishan Kishan has scored a century off 45 balls against Rajasthan Royals. This is Ishan's first season with Hyderabad and he has proved his ability by scoring a century in the first match. This is also the first century of IPL 2025. Interestingly, the century has been scored in the second match of the 18th season of IPL. Ishan is batting explosively in this match, due to which Hyderabad's score has crossed 270. Hyderabad had scored 250+ thrice last season and this time they took the score beyond 270 in their very first match. Sunrisers Hyderabad has set a target of 287 runs for Rajasthan Royals to win on the basis of Ishan Kishan's unbeaten century and Travis Head's half-century. Rajasthan won the toss and decided to bowl first, but Hyderabad scored 286 runs for six wickets in 20 overs on the basis of Ishan and Head. This is the second highest total in IPL history. Hyderabad also holds the record for scoring the highest score in IPL. Hyderabad scored 287 runs for three wickets against RCB last season, which is the highest total of this tournament.
Batting first, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head gave the team a great start, but after Abhishek was out, Head batted aggressively and scored a half-century. After Head was out, it seemed that Hyderabad's innings would slow down, but Ishan batted strongly and proved his ability by scoring a century in 45 balls. This was Ishan's debut match for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Ishan returned unbeaten after scoring 106 runs in 47 balls with the help of 11 fours and six sixes.
For Sunrisers, Head scored 67 runs in 31 balls with the help of nine fours and three sixes, while Heinrich Klaasen scored 34 runs in 14 balls with the help of five fours and one six, Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 30 runs in 15 balls, Abhishek scored 24 runs in 11 balls with the help of five fours and Aniket Verma scored seven runs. The most successful bowler for Rajasthan was Tushar Deshpande who took three wickets. Apart from him, Mahesh Teekshna took two and Sandeep Sharma took one wicket.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match
Sunrisers Hyderabad started the IPL 2025 season with a win by defeating Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs. Hyderabad scored 286 runs for six wickets in 20 overs on the basis of brilliant innings of Ishan Kishan and Travis Head, which is the second highest total of this tournament. In response, Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel played a good partnership, but could not lead the team to victory. Rajasthan's team could only score 242 runs for six wickets in the stipulated overs and had to face defeat.
Chasing the target, Rajasthan did not have a good start and lost three wickets at a score of 50 runs. Samson, who came to play as an impact player in this match, along with Jurel added 111 runs for the fourth wicket and rescued the team from difficulty. For Rajasthan, wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel scored the highest 70 runs in 35 balls with the help of five fours and six sixes. At the same time, Samson scored 66 runs in 37 balls with the help of seven fours and four sixes. Hetmyer scored 42 runs in 23 balls with the help of one four and four sixes, while Shubham returned unbeaten after scoring 34 runs in 11 balls with the help of one four and four sixes. Nitish Rana scored 11 runs for Rajasthan, captain Riyan Parag scored four, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 1 and Jofra Archer remained unbeaten on one run. Simranjeet Singh and Harshal Patel got two wickets each for Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Mohammad Shami and Adam Zampa took one wicket each.
