RCB's victory

RCB defeated CSK by 50 runs on the back of a superb performance by the bowlers after captain Rajat Patidar's half-century. This is RCB's first win at Chepauk Stadium since 2008. Batting first, RCB scored 196 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs, but Chennai's team could only score 146 runs for eight wickets in the stipulated overs. Rachin Ravindra scored the most runs for CSK, who played an innings of 41 runs off 31 balls. Wicketkeeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni returned unbeaten after scoring 30 runs off 16 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes.

While chasing the target, CSK did not have a good start and Josh Hazlewood gave it two blows. After this, it got the third blow in the form of Deepak Hooda. Shivam Dubey, who came in as an impact player, tried to form a partnership with Rachin, but Yash Dayal made both these batsmen his prey. Shivam returned to the pavilion after scoring 19 runs. In the last over, Dhoni hit two consecutive sixes and a four on Krunal Pandya, but RCB managed to break the spell of Chepauk. Jadeja did some good batting and became the first player to complete 3000 runs and 100 wickets in IPL. Jadeja scored 25 runs in the match, while Ashwin was dismissed after scoring 11 runs.
