The Indian team delivered a spectacular performance in the third T20 match played in Dharamshala, defeating South Africa in a one-sided contest. India has now taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
South Africa's innings ends
Thanks to a brilliant bowling performance, India bowled out South Africa for 117 runs in 20 overs. India won the toss and elected to bowl first. South Africa's batting was poor from the very first over, and India put them under pressure with early wickets. South Africa could not recover from this and continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Captain Aiden Markram scored a half-century for the team, which helped them cross the 100-run mark.
For South Africa, Markram scored 61 runs off 46 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes, while Donovan Ferreira contributed 20 runs. Anrich Nortje was dismissed for 12 runs. Apart from these three batsmen, no other South African batsman could reach double figures. Interestingly, all of India's bowlers were successful in this match. Varun Chakravarthy, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each for India. Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube took one wicket each.
India wins the match
India defeated South Africa by seven wickets in the third T20 match to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. India, aided by a strong bowling performance, restricted South Africa to 117 runs all out in 20 overs. India then chased down the target, scoring 120 for 3 in 15.5 overs. Abhishek Sharma was the top scorer for India, making 35 runs off 18 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes.
Chasing the target, Abhishek and Shubman Gill gave India a flying start. The two batsmen added 60 runs for the first wicket before Corbin Bosch broke the partnership. India experimented again, sending Tilak Varma at number three instead of Suryakumar Yadav. Tilak and Gill added 32 runs for the second wicket, but Marco Jansen bowled Gill. Gill was dismissed after scoring 28 runs off 28 balls with the help of five fours.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav failed once again, getting out after scoring just 12 runs. Tilak and Shivam Dube then completed the formalities for India's victory. Tilak remained unbeaten on 25 runs off 34 balls with three fours, while Shivam Dube scored an unbeaten 10 runs off four balls with one four and one six. For South Africa, Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, and Corbin Bosch took one wicket each.
