Mumbai beat Lucknow by 54 runs, Mumbai almost secured their place in the playoffs by winning five consecutive matches.

 Mumbai Indians maintained their momentum and defeated Lucknow Super Giants on their home ground. In this match, after batting, Mumbai also performed brilliantly in bowling.

With the help of the brilliant performance of the bowlers led by Jasprit Bumrah, Mumbai Indians defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs. Lucknow won the toss in this match and decided to bowl first, but with the help of half-century innings of Suryakumar Yadav and Ryan Rickleton, Mumbai scored 215 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Lucknow's team was all out for 161 runs in 20 overs. Bumrah bowled brilliantly for Mumbai and took four wickets for 22 runs in four overs. With this, Bumrah has become the most successful bowler for Mumbai and has left Lasith Malinga behind in this matter.Chasing the target, Lucknow did not have a good start and lost the wicket of Aiden Markram early, who was dismissed after scoring nine runs. After this, Will Jacks gave a big blow to Lucknow by dismissing Nicholas Pooran, who was dismissed after scoring 27 runs off 15 balls. Lucknow's captain failed once again and returned to the pavilion after scoring four runs. 

Mitchell Marsh, however, tried to handle the team to some extent, but Bolt ended his innings. Marsh was dismissed after scoring 34 runs off 24 balls. Lucknow brought in David Miller as an impact player and he tried to maintain a partnership with Ayush Badoni. Bolt sent Badoni to the pavilion for 35 runs and then Miller also fell prey to Bumrah. Miller was dismissed after scoring 24 runs. In the same over, Bumrah also took the wickets of Abdul Samad and Avesh Khan. Ravi Bishnoi tried to reduce the figure by hitting two sixes, but Cobin Bosch showed him the way to the pavilion. On the last ball of the innings, Bolt bowled Digvesh Rathi and ended Lucknow's innings. Apart from Bumrah, Bolt took three wickets for Mumbai, while Will Jacks got two and Bosch got one wicket.
